1.Differences between PCB laser cutting machines and metal laser cutting machines

Firstly,these two devices use different laser sources.PCB laser cutting machines usually use ultraviolet lasers or green lasers;Metal laser cutting machines typically use fiber lasers or CO2 lasers;Both types of devices have relatively high performance.The difference is that the power used is also very different.The power used by PCB laser cutting machines generally does not exceed 30W(ultraviolet laser),while metal laser cutting machines can reach 10KW or more(fiber laser)depending on the thickness of the material.
Another distinguishing part is that in the PCB industry,some aluminum or ceramic substrates use pulsed fiber lasers;Some manufacturers also use low-power CO2 lasers to process PCB circuit boards,typically lasers below 100W.
Secondly,the PCB laser cutting machine uses ultraviolet laser,which is compatible with cutting ultra-thin metal materials below 0.2mm;However,high-power optical fibers or CO2 cannot cut ultra-thin metal materials and are prone to problems such as burrs,blackening,and deformation.
2.Differences in cutting performance.The PCB laser cutting machine adopts the galvanometer scanning method,which scans back and forth multiple times,removes layer by layer,and forms a cut;The metal laser cutting machine adopts a coaxial auxiliary gas collimation and focusing system,which cuts through the material in one go.
3.Structural differences.Metal laser cutting machines usually use large gantry machine tools with servo motors;The PCB laser cutting machine adopts a marble stable platform,linear motor,standard CCD camera vision,relative position cutting accuracy,cutting size accuracy,and positioning accuracy,which are all superior to metal laser cutting machines.The two are different types of products.
